In a dramatic turn of events, South Korean vocalist Taeli has announced his departure from the renowned K-Pop ensemble NCT following grave allegations of a sexual nature. On Wednesday, the artist’s management, SM Entertainment, conveyed the news via a statement on X (formerly Twitter), revealing that Taeli is no longer affiliated with the boy band.
The communiqué from SM Entertainment detailed, “We have recently become aware that Taeli is implicated in a criminal matter concerning a sexual offence.” The statement further elaborated, “Upon evaluating the gravity of the situation, it became apparent that Taeli’s continued participation in NCT was untenable. After a thorough discussion with Taeli, it has been resolved that he will exit the group.”
While the precise details of the accusation against Taeli remain undisclosed, the label confirmed that the singer will sever all ties with the K-Pop group. According to reports, the incident is under scrutiny by the Bangbae Police Station.
SM Entertainment assured, “Taeli is fully cooperating with the ongoing police inquiry. We will issue further updates as the investigation unfolds.” The statement also included an apology to fans, expressing, “We extend our deepest apologies for the distress and unease caused by these events.”
