Gov. Sarah Huckabee Sanders announced on Monday that one of her deputy chiefs of staff, Kelly Eichler, will be leaving the governor’s office to pursue new opportunities. In her place, Jamie Barker will take on the role of deputy chief of staff, while Judd Deere will continue in his current position as the other deputy chief of staff.

Additionally, Chafer Stanley, who currently serves as the governor’s policy adviser on agriculture, energy, environment, and regulatory affairs, will succeed Barker as director of legislative affairs. Sanders also announced other staff changes, including Jack Sisson becoming the governor’s senior adviser for healthcare, Selby Tucker becoming the governor’s budget director, and Morgan Warbington taking on the role of director of faith-based initiatives and special projects.

Eichler has been serving as a deputy chief of staff for Sanders since the governor was sworn in, bringing with her years of experience in Arkansas state government. She played a key role in the passage of significant legislation during her time in office, including the Arkansas LEARNS Act and the Protect Act. Sanders expressed her gratitude for Eichler’s contributions and wished her well in her future endeavors.

Barker, who previously served as political director on Sanders’ gubernatorial campaign, will take over as the director of legislative affairs. Sanders expressed confidence in Barker’s ability to continue the momentum of the governor’s office, along with the rest of the legislative and policy teams.

This series of staffing changes reflects Sanders’ continued commitment to advancing her administration’s agenda and making Arkansas the best state in America to live, work, and raise a family.
