University of Arkansas GORP incubator receives $1.2M funding for expansion efforts

[ad_1]

The University of Arkansas’ Greenhouse Outdoor Recreation Program (GORP) has been awarded a $1.2 million grant from the U.S. Economic Development Agency to expand its support for outdoor startups in Arkansas. This grant, matched by an additional $1 million from the state of Arkansas, is the largest in the history of the UA’s Office of Entrepreneurship and Innovation, which oversees GORP.

The new initiative, called GORP ARound the State, will focus on supporting entrepreneurs in four opportunity zones for the outdoor recreation economy: Queen Wilhelmina State Park (Mena), Petit Jean State Park (Morrilton), Pinnacle Mountain State Park (Roland), and the Delta Heritage Trail State Park (West Helena).

The expansion of the program is a significant development for the outdoor recreation industry in Arkansas and will provide valuable support for startup businesses in this sector.
