Sunday Night Football has entered a temporary hiatus due to inclement weather. The anticipated clash between the Cowboys and the Steelers, initially slated for an 8:20 p.m. ET kickoff, has been delayed. With an approaching weather system forcing a pause in proceedings, the NFL has tentatively pushed the game’s commencement to 9:45 p.m. ET as conditions gradually clear over Acrisure Stadium.
In a critical blow to the Cowboys, defensive stalwart DeMarcus Lawrence will remain sidelined as he nurses a foot injury, having been placed on injured reserve. Likewise, Micah Parsons, a pivotal force on the defensive line, is also ruled out due to an ankle sprain. However, the team receives a glimmer of hope with cornerback Trevon Diggs, who was questionable with an ankle issue but has been cleared to participate.
Besides Parsons, the Cowboys have listed several other key players as inactive for tonight’s contest. These include quarterback Trey Lance, who will be available only as an emergency third option under center, cornerback Caelen Carson (shoulder), running back Deuce Vaughn, defensive end KJ Henry, offensive tackle Matt Waletzko, and tight end John Stephens.
Turning to the Steelers, they too have a roster of notable absentees. Quarterback Russell Wilson, sidelined with a calf injury, will serve as the emergency third quarterback for the evening. Joining him on the inactive list are wide receiver Roman Wilson, running back Jaylen Warren (knee), linebacker Alex Highsmith (groin), offensive guard Max Scharping, tight end MyCole Pruitt, and running back Cordarrelle Patterson (ankle).
The stage is set, despite the weather-induced delay, for a heated showdown once the skies clear and kickoff finally arrives.
