Aamir Khan, in the company of Kiran Rao and Junaid Khan, recently made his way to Reena Dutta’s residence in Bandra to mourn the loss of her father, who passed away on Wednesday. Reena, it has been reported, resides in the same building complex as Aamir, alongside her family.
Captured through the lenses of paparazzi, Aamir was seen entering the premises, flanked by bodyguards, as he swiftly moved inside to offer his condolences. His former spouse, Kiran Rao, also made an appearance, paying her respects and extending her sympathies to Reena and her family. Junaid Khan, the eldest son of Aamir and Reena, was present as well, arriving to honor his maternal grandfather.
In another poignant clip, Aamir is visibly moved, standing solemnly by the ambulance, assisting with the necessary arrangements for the funeral rites. Kiran and Junaid were also captured in conversation, reflecting a quiet moment of shared grief amidst the solemn proceedings.
In a reflective interview some time ago, Aamir had shed light on the early days of his relationship with Reena, recalling how her parents had initially disapproved of their union. He recounted their elopement at the tender ages of 21 and 19, respectively, when neither family had been aware of their romantic involvement. Reena’s parents, in particular, were displeased with her connection to Aamir. Overcome by a mutual fear of separation, the young couple felt compelled to take the drastic step of eloping, a decision born not of defiance but of an overwhelming sense of vulnerability and insecurity. Aamir further explained that their actions were not meant to show disrespect, but rather to safeguard their relationship in the face of uncertainty. Moreover, since Aamir was under the age of 21 at the time, they had to wait several months before they could legally wed.
Aamir and Reena’s marriage, which commenced in 1986, spanned 16 years before their eventual separation in 2002. They share two children together—Junaid Khan and Ira Khan. Following their divorce, Aamir entered into a relationship with Kiran Rao, whom he married in 2005. Yet, this union, too, reached its conclusion in 2021. Aamir and Kiran share a son, Azad, who was brought into the world via surrogacy.
